List of Tips for Playing at Party Poker
No player can immediately win loads of cash just by wishing it. You need to practice and work on how you play poker and then you will have to learn to control the excitement of playing poker against other players. Party Poker Tip has compiled a selection of some poker tips to help you get there:
- Learn all the poker rules. Especially go over the rules of the particular poker variation you are interested in playing. Do this and it will be a lot easier calculating odds and verifying payout percentages.
- Watch unfamiliar poker players. Carefully have a look at unfamiliar gamblers or if you are playing online poker, carefully view the game for about thirty minutes. Follow the way other players are playing. Other than noticing how others play (loosely, tightly or recklessly) you should also watch to identify whether other players are playing as a team. If you do manage to catch such teams ? contact the poker room or at least leave the table and enter another poker table.
- Begin at the lowest level of allowed wagering. If you do get a strong hand don\'t immediately raise it too high. This will put other players off and you will not be able to win a lot of money. Instead, raise your bets slowly and hesitantly. Let others think you have a so-so hand and are worried whether your hand is strong enough. They will bet against you and raise the pot.
- Enter a poker room with enough cash to last you the round. By this I mean that you should have at least 10 times the limit. Otherwise ? you might not have enough money to back up a very strong hand and you will have to fold and lose the chance of winning big.
